Flickinger Center for Performing Arts is a 590-seat performing arts center in downtown Alamogordo, New Mexico. Originally the Sierra Movie Theater, built in the 50s, it was purchased by Margaret Flickinger and given to the community in 1988. It was renovated and converted to a multipurpose performing arts center in 1991 and now presents music, theater, dance, visual arts, classic cinema and community programs by professional, amateur and community based organizations. Flickinger Center for Performing Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that presents a full season of productions and co-productions, as well as rental productions by organizations such as schools, churches, service clubs, auxiliaries, literary and theater groups and other community organizations from Alamogordo and the surrounding Tularosa Basin. Approximately 30,000 adults and over 6,000 children participate in, and are exposed to a wide-range of performing arts at the Flickinger Center each year.
